After a day veiled in mist, the sun finally graced us with its warmth as we embarked on our final hike with Francesco. Our destination: the majestic Sass Ciampac, a towering peak that casts its shadow over the picturesque village of Colfosco.
Starting from the Gardena Pass, our ascent of 650 meters was a test of endurance, but we took our time, pausing for our beloved grandfather to enjoy the views. The trail meandered through the scenic Cir and Crespeina valleys, showcasing the Dolomites’ stunning beauty.
Two hours and ten minutes later, we stood triumphantly atop Sass Ciampac at 2,667 meters, rewarded with a panoramic vista that stretched as far as the eye could see. This marked the culmination of five hours of hiking and over 2,100 meters of elevation gain – a testament to our shared love for the mountains.
