Why You’ll Love This Recipe:

  • Refreshingly Easy: Just a few simple ingredients and a blender are all you need.
  • Bursting with Flavor: The natural sweetness of watermelon complements the tequila and lime perfectly.
  • Summer in a Glass: This vibrant cocktail is the perfect way to cool down and celebrate the season.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups frozen watermelon (or fresh if serving on the rocks)
  • 1/2 cup tequila (blanco or reposado)
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1/3 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1-2 tbsp honey or agave (adjust to taste)
  • Ice
  • Salt for rim (optional)
  • Lime wedges and watermelon slices for garnish

Instructions:

  1. If using frozen watermelon, skip this step. If using fresh watermelon, cut it into chunks and freeze for at least 6 hours.
  2. In a blender, combine the frozen watermelon, tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and sweetener.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. If desired, rim your glasses with salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it in salt.
  5. Fill glasses with ice and pour in the margarita mixture.
  6. Garnish with lime wedges and watermelon slices.

Tips:

  • For a spicier kick, add a few slices of jalapeño to the blender.
  • To make it a “skinny” margarita, use less sweetener or omit it altogether.
  • Experiment with different types of tequila to find your favorite flavor profile.
