This library with around 36,000 leather-bound books is one of the most important European libraries of the 18th century. The room is laid out in the shape of a cross and has a multicolored marble floor and rocaille shelves.
The collection includes first editions of all fields of knowledge and religious works of the Enlightenment. Particularly worth seeing are the illustrated „Books of Hours“ from the 15th century, the collection of incunabula and a series of scores for the six organs of the basilica in the National Palace.
