in 1745, The Dutch army sents 6,000 troops to England to assist in the fight against the Jacobites (just like in 1688, you couldn’t cope without Dutch assistance 😉 ) . these auxiliary units are listed below. In addition, they also sent 10,000 muskets from the Holland Arsenal in Delft. Of the 10,000 muskets, 4,900 had wooden ramrods and 5,100 were provided with iron ramrods. I suppose that some of these guns might still be on the isle.
Since this meant that the arsenal in Delft lacked 10,000 muskets, 10,000 new muskets are immediately ordered in Liege via two Maastricht gunmakers. These muskets arrive in the Delft Arsenal within a year. These muskets are proofed and marked with the coat-of-arms of Holland (a rampant lion).
