Smoky Root Beer Infused Baked Beans

Ingredients:
2 cans (15 oz each) navy beans, drained and rinsed
1 medium onion, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup root beer
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons molasses
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in root beer, barbecue sauce, molasses, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika. Bring to a simmer.
Add the rinsed navy beans to the skillet and mix well. Season with salt and pepper.
Transfer the bean mixture to a baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to thicken the sauce.
