A Bomb Pop cocktail, inspired by the red, white, and blue Bomb Pop popsicle, is a colorful and festive drink perfect for summer celebrations.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Grenadine
- 1 oz. Lemonade
- 2 oz. Blue Curacao
- 1 oz. Vodka (optional for a non-alcoholic version, just omit the vodka)
- Ice
Instructions:
- Prepare the Glass:
- Fill a tall glass halfway with ice.
- Layer the Red:
- Pour the grenadine over the ice slowly. It will settle at the bottom.
- Add the White:
- In a shaker, mix the lemonade and vodka (if using) with ice. Shake well.
- Slowly pour this mixture over the back of a spoon or along the side of the glass to help layer it on top of the grenadine without mixing.
- Finish with Blue:
- Very carefully top the drink with the Blue Curacao, again pouring over the back of a spoon or along the glass edge to keep the layers separate.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Optionally, garnish with a cherry or a small American flag pick for a festive touch.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
The key to achieving the layered effect is to pour each layer slowly and use the back of a spoon to diffuse the liquid being added. The different sugar content in each layer helps them stay separate.
