The Gontaut-Biron family ruled over this rocky spur for no less than 800 years! The castle, built between the 12th and 17th centuries, is so monumental that it is reminiscent of our greatest fortresses. Remodeled in the 18th and 19th centuries, it alone offers a spectrum of architecture spanning nearly 1000 years. Impressive, isn’t it? 😯

In total, the Château de Biron sprawls over nearly one hectare! Regularly, the Dordogne department, owner of this exceptional historic site, organizes contemporary art exhibitions there. In summer, you can usually attend concerts and shows… 😍
