March holds a promise, a date etched not only in my calendar but also in my heart—the candle concert at the Ubaldinesque fortress of Sassocorvaro. As the month approaches, I can already envision the evening unfolding within the historical embrace of the fortress, a structure that has stood sentinel over the Marche landscape through the passage of centuries.
Anticipation builds for the moment I will don the attire of an era long past, the fabric and style meticulously crafted to reflect the epoch. I imagine myself, amongst the others, as part of a living fresco that brings history to vibrant life within the ancient walls.
The concert by candlelight is set to be the jewel of the evening. I can almost hear the strings and keys of the classical ensemble, their harmonies destined to weave through the flickering light and shadow, crafting an atmosphere of timeless romance.
Following the symphony of sounds, a dinner awaits, promising to be an exploration of historical flavors. The tables will be set in a manner befitting the setting, with ancient recipes resurrecting the culinary traditions of the fortress’s heyday. It will be a feast for the senses and a toast to tradition, with conversations likely to meander through the tales of old, just as the wine will flow from bottle to goblet.
As I cast my mind forward to this appointment in March, it is with a sense of entering a living tapestry, a night where history will not only be recounted but also experienced—a romantic interlude illuminated by candlelight, set within the storied walls of the Sassocorvaro fortress.
