Last night a beautiful mother turtle chose the beach of the locality IL PINO in Riotorto in the Municipality of Piombino.

At sunset the beach was the scene of a magical moment and the people who were lucky enough to witness it were stunned. In particular, the sighting was reported to the Harbour Master’s Office by Amedeo Delle Piane and Martina Rossi, who also kindly made photos available to us.

The Regional Sea Turtle Network promptly took action.

The large turtle returned to the sea after almost two hours when already a wonderful pink moon was high above the sea.

It was only at that point that the turtleAmare experts verified and confirmed the presence of the eggs.
