It is not easy to say which are the most extraordinary experiences to have in a country that offers so many: Australia is full of unforgettable places and opportunities to do things that cannot be repeated in a lifetime. However, we have selected for you twelve of the most wonderful experiences you can give yourself Down Under.
Western Australia
Luxury in the Outback

Even backpapers need to drop the rustic style now and then. One place to indulge in a little luxury, away from it all, is certainly El Questro Outback Farm. Perched on a cliff in the heart of the breathtaking landscape of Western Australia’s Kimberley region and surrounded by nearly 283,000 hectares of wild rocks, frangipani trees, and gorges, this property offers something unique, between absolute relaxation and the opportunity to take private river qcruises and wildlife spotting tours.
NORTHERN AUSSIE
Discover the stories of the Aborigines at Uluru
A unique multimedia show in the desert sky around Ayers Rock Resort in Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. The name of the show, Wintjiri Wiru, in the Anangu language, means “beautiful view of the horizon,” and it already tells a great deal about what will be seen. Not only an extraordinarily beautiful event, but also an opportunity to learn more about the culture and ancestral history of the indigenous Anangu people and a feud of the ancient Mala people.

South Australia
The most mind-blowing experiences not to be missed in Australia
Tasting Australian wines
Tasting a wine among the vines and, with any luck, seeing a kangaroo walk by: the opportunity for such a memorable moment can be found in Australia’s beautiful wine regions, which are working with increasing success to produce excellent wines. Therefore, a visit to a winery should definitely be on your travel list. For example, to McLaren Vale, on the Fleurieu Peninsula, just a 45-minute drive from Adelaide/Tarntanya, where the cradle of South Australia’s wine industry is located, now best known for its Shiraz.
Victoria
Discover Melbourne/Narrm.
Red brick houses, narrow streets, colorful street art here and there: downtown Melbourne/Narrms attracts with secluded streets full of life. Trendy restaurants, small hidden bars, cafes and original boutiques. After venturing out to discover it all, it’s worth having a panoramic view from the other side, going up for a coffee or a drink at one of the rooftop cafes that offer great views of the skyline after dark.
Queensland
Spend the night on the reef
It’s hard to find anything like this for reef lovers: one of the best ways to have the reef all to yourself is the Reefsleep Experience. Cruise Whitsundays takes small groups of visitors to the Reefworld platform, where you can spend an entire day snorkeling, diving, and participating in boat and helicopter rides. Then, when everyone else goes home in the early afternoon, the “Reefsleepers” stay on site and can dive the reef again until late in the day, admiring the water as it turns the red of sunset. After the evening barbecue, there is another opportunity for a night dive before retiring to admire the starry sky.
New South Wales Climbing a Bridge
In Sydney/Warrane, the Harbour Bridge is a truly iconic landmark. Impossible to miss, but you can choose how you look at it: in fact, you can view it from several vantage points, some of which are decidedly extraordinary. You can opt for a romantic ferry ride, for example, or choose to climb it, until you get a splendid and exceptional view of the sails of the Opera House. During the Burrawa Climb, bridge climbers will be accompanied by an indigenous storyteller and learn about the culture of the local Aboriginal communities around Sydney/Warrane.
